First off, I just got back from a tractor supply store where we bought a wood splitter. We have a wood stove in my family's home, and burn wood all winter to heat our house. It'll be so much easier on my Dad this way, not having to split it all by hand, Not that he hasn't done a FANTASTIC job. He has. I am amazed by his fortitude. He had a "mild" stroke in October of 2007. I say mild in quotes, because most people know that a stroke is NOT a little issue. It was also in his dominant side, which has caused him some problems. He still has a hitch in his gait and weakness in the muscles of his right side, especially when he gets tired. But for the last two years, and on into this one he has faithfully cut, split and stacked most of our wood for the winter. My brother helps, as does my mom, and I when they let me (I have a regular job) but for the most part Dad wants to do it on his own. It's helped him regain some of his strength back, and he's still working towards full mobility. The family stubbornness has to come in handy for something, eh?
Anyhow, this will make things go easier for him while not cutting out his exercise, and enabling him to do more in less time. It's really been wearing him out lately doing the splitting by hand. So all together a good thing. 
Secondly, I'm still not really writing. There's a poem idea rolling around in the back of my mind, but it is one I am literally afraid to write. It's a goodbye, of sorts, and I feel like if I write it that it could somehow finalize a goodbye that I'm still hoping I won't have to say. I know, that's kind of vague and cryptic, but I honestly can't go into detail about it. Suffice to say I am still uninspired for the most part except in a direction I don't want to travel right now.
Thirdly, a small invitation. My best friend convinced me to sign up for formspring.me so I'm sharing the link in case anyone wants to toss out a question.
Anything works for me, from profound to ridiculous. My friend delighted in sending me questions like "What are your favorite movies" or favorite songs.... LONG replies needed for those, and she knows it!!
